Position Summary

The Technical Specialist (DEIA Support), Mid-level supports the USAID DEIA Office. The Technical Specialist provides subject matter expertise in DEIA and its application in the workplace. The Technical Specialist works with USAID on its requirements, approach, implementation, assessment, and analysis of DEIA and how to improve its impact in its application. This includes its business application/functions, process improvement, and business change and implementing change as required. Under the direction of the USAID DEIA Office, the Technical Specialist will aid USAID in its adoption and application. The Technical Specialist supports any identified outreach, coordination, communication, and other efforts in supporting USAID. This position supports the mission of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Management (M Bureau), Office of Acquisition and Assistance, and its designated offices. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the USAID ISC contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support USAID.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research various DEIA topics to create targeted training curriculum for USAID.
  • Co-facilitate DEIA training for various organizations which builds a foundational understanding of DEIA.
  • Monitor international and federal laws and regulations to guide client centered services.
  • Develop strategic learning strategies for adult learners that increase their understanding of DEIA.
  • Facilitate the alignment with organizational goals and policy related to the planning and implementation of DEIA.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to increase DEIA engagement reach and impact.
  • Facilitate DEIA training across varying platforms.
  • Create educational and branding materials for tiered learning across media (videos, audio, slide decks, and social media) that focus on DEIA and brand visibility.
  • Apply strategic data-driven processes to boost profitability, productivity, and brand recognition using various social media marketing strategies to design and provide a centralized location on M/OAA's intranet site that contains a set of user-friendly tools that all USAID staff can easily access, know how to use, and set the Agency-wide standard for documents and procedures for all business functions.
  • Create comprehensive guidance and templates that cover all actions included in USAID's business processes. This includes the creation of short, comprehensive, and concise Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidance documents, templates, best practice samples, and quick links to resources and other basic information for all sorts of actions throughout the 27 lifecycles of awards. All of these will be clearly organized and easily accessible to the workforce worldwide in a user-friendly central location and updated regularly.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Submit MSRs (weekly, monthly, etc.) as directed by RavenTek Manager.
  • Monitor RavenTek email regularly, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned by RavenTek.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills
  • A deep understanding of DEIA and its application in & Assistance awards in the USAID context.
  • Ability to work independently to create documents and templates.
  • Ability to clearly convey topics in an easy-to-understand format, with strong writing and editing skills.
  • Effective oral and written communications.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Minimum 7 years' professional relevant work experience.

  • Secret security is preferred.
  • Public Trust clearance (USAID) is required.

Work Environment

When working on-site, employees will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs regularly.

Physical Demands

Employees need to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; see, talk, and hear. Most positions require the ability to work on a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries, and/or reports in written format. Employees may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
