Technical Communications Specialist

The Ford Agency is seeking a skilled Technical Communications Specialist to join our team at a prestigious international law firm. As a key member of the IT department, you will play a crucial role in disseminating complex IT solutions to a broad audience, collaborating closely with IT leadership, and staying up-to-date with industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and Edit Communications: Develop and refine communications in support of IT strategy, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in conveying complex technical information.
  • Manage IT Intranet Content: Oversee the creation and maintenance of high-quality content for the IT intranet site, ensuring it is engaging, informative, and easily accessible.
  • Develop Communication Campaigns: Design and implement strategic communication campaigns to promote IT initiatives, products, and services, leveraging various channels and formats.
  • Collect Feedback and Metrics: Gather feedback from stakeholders and utilize metrics to inform future communications plans, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with IT goals.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends: Stay abreast of the latest IT and communications trends, implementing new best practices as needed to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with IT Leadership: Work closely with CIO and IT leadership to ensure communications are aligned with the team's goals, strategies, and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as communications, technical writing, or a related field.
  • IT Communications Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT communications, with a strong background in technical writing and content development.
  • Large Law Firm Experience: Experience working in a large law firm environment is highly preferred.
  • Technical Writing Experience: Strong technical writing experience is essential, with the ability to understand complex technical solutions and communicate them effectively to a broad audience.
  • Excellent Communication and Organization Skills: Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to work effectively with personnel across all levels.
  • Technical Certifications: Technical certifications, such as PMP or CSM, are highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project, program, collaboration, and portfolio management tools, with the ability to work with personnel across all levels.
  • Ability to Work in a Team-Oriented Environment: The ability to thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.

Candidates for this position must be based in the DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
