The role of a Business Manager at i-Pharm is to act as a functional market lead from both a client development and team management perspective.

Key Account Management

You will be responsible for a managing and developing several Key Account clients. This responsibility may extend to the entire company, or to parts of the company. These are typically large scale multinational Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device and Contract Research Organsiations that i-Pharm has worked with for many years.

You will attend regular on-site meetings with key contacts at each client. These will include formal reviews meetings as well as regular informal catch-ups.

You will build relationships with key contacts at each client, both in person and by phone.

You will act as a key point of contact between i-Pharm and the client.

You will work to ensure that i-Pharm is positioned as a supplier of choice at each Key Account Client.

You will develop Key Account Clients through pro-active cross-selling, networking and relationship building.

You will build up a detailed organogram of each company to include Line Managers and HR/Internal Recruitment Managers.

In partnership with i-Pharm consultants and management team, you will ensure that we are delivering on each account and will help develop strategies to improve performance where necessary.

On an ongoing basis, you will analyse accounts and monitor performance. You will be required to present analytical data on our performance both internally and externally. From time-to-time you may also be asked to provide market data to clients.

You will maintain specialist knowledge of specific recruitment systems, processes and compliance requirements unique to each client.

New Business Development

You will carry out your own targeted new business development activities, including but not limited to calls, emails and client meetings.

You will identify business opportunities through pro-active research, networking and relationship building.

You will attend Client Meetings with recruitment consultants who have opened new clients. Your role will be to sell the full i-Pharm range of services and to help develop these new clients into potential accounts.

Preparing RFIs/RFPs, writing tender documents and attending business pitches.

Attending conferences & industry events to promote the i-Pharm brand

Team Management

As a Business Manager, you will have full responsibility for the line management and performance of a team under your command and will have specific budgeted financial goals against which your success will be measured. This is a Billing Management role, your team will consist of consultants and team leaders of varying experience levels.

You will act as a role model through consistent performance and billings and by acting as a positive ambassador for the company.

You will recruit mid-to-senior level staff within your assigned functional area of the Life Sciences sector. You will be a highly-regarded specialist and market expert in this area.

You will be responsible for managing and motivating your team to ensure that short, medium and long-term goals are achieved

You will find, interview and select consultants and team leaders to join your team.

You will drive initiatives to ensure excellent retention of new and existing team members

You will create succession within the business by developing consultants through the career pathway

You will be responsible for helping team members with planning, monitoring and analysing their business through regular meetings and performance reviews.

Coaching, training and development of team members when appropriate

You will ensure that Senior Consultants and Team Leaders are appropriately skilled to take on management responsibility within your team and will delegate responsibility appropriately.

You will take an active role in client development and key account management activities to ensure a steady flow of new and repeat business

You will be available day-to-day for advice and input on important business matters such as deal management, problem resolution, contract negotiation, client development etc.

You will take an active role in setting sales targets for team members

You must have Life Science recruitment experience for this position.
