About the role

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Background Check and Compliance Associate to join our team. This role will primarily focus on managing background checks and ensuring compliance with I-9 verification procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end background check process for all candidates in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Ensure timely completion of background checks and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and agencies to obtain necessary information and ensure timely completion of background checks.
  • Review background check results and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders, providing guidance on next steps as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of background check activities and documentation in our applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on background check policies and procedures, providing guidance and training to recruiters.
  • Handle candidate inquiries and address any concerns related to the background check process with professionalism and discretion.
  • Support the management of the entire background check process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with I-9 verification procedures, including maintaining meticulous records and adherence to legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with Recruiting, HR, hiring managers, and legal teams to address any compliance-related issues or concerns.
  • Provide administrative support for all aspects of background checks and compliance processes.
Role Details
  • Location: Parsippany, NJ or New York, NY
  • Pay Rate:
    • $20-$28.60 per hour
Qualifications & Skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic understanding of legal requirements and best practices related to background checks and I-9 verification (training will be provided).
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to learning and problem-solving.
