Position Summary
The role involves directing, coordinating, and exercising functional authority for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the designated area of responsibility. This is achieved through personal involvement or by overseeing subordinate supervisors. Collaboration with the Principal and clients is essential to address and resolve client challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting and managing site investigations.
  • Assessing surface and subsurface conditions to provide informed recommendations.
  • Planning and executing engineering programs, defining project philosophies, activities, milestones, and staffing needs based on client requirements.
  • Maintaining schedules and budgets for assigned engineering projects.
  • Reporting on project milestone statuses and adjusting schedules as necessary.
  • Managing expenditures within the constraints of the project budget.
  • Identifying staffing needs and coordinating with organizational managers.
  • Overseeing the preparation and delivery of project deliverables, including design documents and proposals.
  • Assigning and supervising project personnel across various project phases, such as technical studies and product testing.
  • Reviewing product designs for compliance with engineering principles and specifications.
  • Engaging with clients to provide project updates and ensure their needs are met.
  • Providing progress reports to clients, project teams, and management.
  • Establishing research schedules in alignment with company timelines and ensuring routine adherence to project schedules.
  • Offering expertise in the field of research and training research assistants and graduate students.
  • Developing research plans, designing experiments, and outlining procedures while providing necessary training to team members.
  • Setting major design parameters in collaboration with the project design team and clients.
  • Strengthening existing client relationships and cultivating new ones.
  • Preparing estimates for proposals regarding time and expenses for project completion.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as required.

Supervisory Role
This position includes supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience, including 5 years in project management. Previous construction experience is advantageous.
  • Preferred: Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) license.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
  • A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation for job site access.
  • Proficiency in mathematical concepts and practical applications.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, MS Word, Excel, and Adobe.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this role require frequent standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift/move objects up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, with the ability to adjust focus as needed.

Work Environment
The majority of work will occur in an office setting, with approximately 10% conducted outdoors. Candidates must be prepared to navigate various terrains and weather conditions while adhering to safety protocols.
