**Medical Support Specialist**
**Hiring Bonus of $1000.00 to external Candidates**
We are seeking a **Medical Support Specialist** for our **Outpatient Mental Health clinic at Stark Clinic** This position provides support to the organizations primary care/psychiatric providers while promoting whole-person health and wellbeing. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, this role will contribute to an environment of person-centered care and safety through client engagement, assessment, communication and timely documentation.
**Hours: .8 FTE Monday-Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm**

**Hiring Range:** $16.25 - 17.68

**Education and Experience**
* Associates of Arts degree in a behavioral sciences field; or
* Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program from an accredited vocational institution or community college.
* In lieu of an AA degree in a behavior sciences field, an AA degree in any field plus 3 years administrative support experience in a healthcare setting may be substituted.
* Preference given to candidates with one year of prior medical assistant experience
* Preference given to those with a Bachelors of Arts degree.
* Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working with individuals who have mental illness.
Certifications/Licenses
* Preference given to candidates with national certification as a registered medical assistant
**Main Job Duties**
* This position reports directly to Clinical Program Manager and will interact on a regular basis with other members of an interdisciplinary team. This position works cooperatively with all program staff and other People Incorporated staff as requested.
* Responsible for the obtainment and recording of client vitals, changes in health status, reconciliation of medications and notation of changes.
* Review and coordinate services related to the client psychiatric symptoms survey and well-being assessment that support appointment preparation and on-going services.
* Provide administrative support to program(s) in the areas of prescription refill requests, prior authorizations, obtaining external medical records, and general facilitation of program needs
* Document interactions with clients into organizations Electronic Health Record (EHR) and if applicable, program-specific documentation/record-keeping system, while providing clear and concise communication with client, staff and other applicable parties.
* Produce and deliver on outlined performance expectations that may adapt based on client and organizational needs
* Respond to inquiries made by telephone, email and/or in-person about services and resources, and provide coverage to the front desk operations including assistance with scheduling psychiatric appointments.
