As an Employer Relations Associate at Ensign College, you will work hand in hand with the senior leadership to manage and create employer relationships, assist in career fair recruitment. This individual will also assist with the Handshake database. Colleges and universities use Handshake to store student information such as rsums, cover letters, and career fairs.

The ideal candidate will need excellent relationship-building, superior written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as technical skills to manage the Handshake database. They will be a self-starter who can work independently and productively without supervision. The candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail).

We are looking for a minimum 2-semester commitment from student employee

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • (60 percent) Assist management with cultivating relationships with targeted employers and organizations through phone calls, emails, lunches, association meetings, conferences, etc. The purposes of these relationships are to:
  • Create greater visibility of the college and its students within relevant professional communities.
  • Grow the number of employers for the career fair and other internship opportunities to the college's students.
  • (15 percent) Update, distribute, collect, and analyze data from the Handshake database; write comprehensive and interpretive reports to distribute findings and industry analysis.
  • (15 percent) Oversee the online system; serve as point person for communication and outreach to vendors and users.
  • (10 percent) Handshake specialist: Approving job postings, assisting students with Handshake sign up process, creating Career Fair and workshop events in Handshake, etc.

Worthiness Qualification:
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy or have an ecclesiastical endorsement
  • Must be a current student of Ensign College in good academic standing and enrolled in at least 6 credits.
