Manager, Events and Marketing

will work with the President and CEO and ACEC Board of Directors to provide logistical oversight for over 20 events each year, including conferences, seminars, awards dinners, and virtual trainings. The Manager will work closely with both internal professional staff and volunteer leadership to manage the successful execution of events. Additionally, the Manager will develop and execute an integrated organizational marketing strategy, including management of website, email communications, social media content creation and posting, and more. Meetings, Conferences & Events Spearhead planning and logistics for all organizational events including two annual conferences, monthly seminars and webinars, annual awards dinner, golf tournament, social, PAC and networking events, and more. Oversee onsite event logistics including developing event schedules, providing speaker and sponsor support, A/V and technical support, managing registration, and all event collateral. Serve as primary point of contact for event attendees, vendors, and venues and provide timely communication and support as needed. Work with the CEO to develop and monitor meeting and event budgets. Lead the venue selection process and manage contract negotiations for venue and related services including food & beverage, A/V, etc. Serve as logistical point of contact for all speakers and presenters and make travel arrangements as necessary. Execute post-conference follow up including survey creation and dissemination, post-event invoicing and payments, and thank you acknowledgements. Manage the event registration process, including creation of online registration sites, email templates, mobile apps, and marketing campaigns. Organize all needed event collateral including signage, awards, promotional items, etc. Solicit event sponsors and make sure all sponsorship deliverables are executed. Execute post-conference follow up including satisfaction surveys, post-event invoicing and payments, presentations, certificates and thank you notes. Support board of director meetings and committees as necessary Marketing & Communications Develop organizational marketing strategy including integrated marketing, communications and branding. Create compelling content for various communication channels, including event announcements, website content, social media posts, newsletters, etc. Manage content for the website to ensure information is up to date and accurate. Work with CEO, Board of Directors, liaison committees, and partner organizations to gather and disseminate relevant industry information across ACEC communication channels, including social media. Create organizational communications calendar. Measure, monitor and report on the success of the communications plan as needed. Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices. Background, Knowledge and Required Skills Minimum of five years of marketing and event planning experience. Experience with associations preferred. Ability to work remotely within Washington State, with the ability to attend frequent events throughout the Puget Sound region and elsewhere in the state. Strong sense of ownership and ability to work with minimal day-to-day supervision and to manage deadlines and competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with members, vendors, and partners. Exceptional organization and attention to detail with the ability to work cooperatively as part of a small team Excellent verbal and written communications and customer service skills. Creative thinker who is eager to bring new ideas and innovation to the organization. Knowledge and application of event technology (ie online registration systems, mobile applications, web editing, etc). Familiarity with WordPress is a plus.
