The Oasis is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join the team. This role would be responsible for generating resort, property and National Park awareness through multi-faceted approaches including direct sales calls, trade-show engagement, and networking groups. The Sales Manager works closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to solicit, sell, and confirm group/hotel sales. Meet and exceed business sales and budgeted goals as per the assigned market segment(s) in the defined regions. Directly responsible for generating new business by daily prospecting through in-person visits, email, mail and/or telephone calls. *for both employees and guests.* **Responsibilities** * Contact potential businesses in an attempt to secure new sales while maintaining existing accounts for the Inn and the Ranch at the Oasis at Death Valley. * Ensure sales goals are met or exceeded. * Perform daily telephone solicitations to new (minimum of 3) and existing accounts in defined market segments. * Create, execute, and track direct sales plan specific to market assignment. * Maintain good relationships with the current book of business in order to generate future bookings. * Work closely with property Sales and Catering teams on all aspects of hotel sales and group events. * Meet with coordinator or meeting planners in a professional and timely manner for site visits. * Provide potential clients with necessary collateral, proposals, and contracts in timely fashion. * Coordinate all sales related activities through the direction of the Director of Sales. * Negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while satisfying the customers' needs. * Handle client requests and provide superior customer services. * Handle incoming sales inquiries for space and rooms efficiently and professionally. * Block sleeping rooms in Property Management System and Sales & Catering Software. * Assure blocking of event spaces, appropriate guest rooms, and meeting space ratio. * Determine, based on revenue management strategies and property limitations, if group event/s are profitable for business. * Log all activities in Sales & Catering System for incoming calls and booked groups while maintaining daily updates and internal correspondences. * Maintain accurate and professional working and master files for all accounts. * Practice regular use of Outlook for email correspondence and scheduling meetings/appointments. * Travel for participation in trade-shows, industry events, sales calls, and training. * Maintain relationships with industry peers, networking groups, and direct sales relationships. * Familiarity with all banquet/restaurant menus, prices, taxes, ect. * Conduct client site inspections as required. * Review banquet checks for correct postings of charges. * Comply with all cash handling and PCI regulations. * Interface with all hotel departments to ensure clients' needs are met. i.e. Food and Beverage, Rooms, Engineering, Golf, Central Warehouse, ect. * Complete additional sales development tasks as assigned by Director of Sales and Marketing. **Qualifications** * 5 year of Hotel Sales experience preferred. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with clients, employees, and vendors. * Organized with an attention for details. * Ability to multi-task, have exceptional telephone etiquette, outstanding customer service skills, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. * Strong knowledge of the food and beverage and banquet operations. * Exhibits excellent listening and negotiation skills while asking open-ended questions. * Experience in OPERA, Delphi, hotel property management, sales, and catering systems preferred. * Basic accounting skills required. * Experience in Microsoft Office applications required.
