As an Italian Brand/Merchandising Specialist, you will be the driving force behind our new business growth, exclusive brand conversions, and penetration opportunities. You will engage with priority target customers and high-potential prospects to expand our reach in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales: Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to achieve annual business goals in assigned categories and Ferraro Foods' exclusive and private brands across your region.
  • Performance Metrics: Drive KPIs across categories, including TGP/Case, sales case growth, category penetration, EB%, and target capture rate.
  • Market Insights: Prioritize time, targets, and team-selling efforts based on market insights and data analytics.
  • Prospect Conversion: Identify, qualify, and support top prospect conversion opportunities to Ferraro and Ferraro-owned brands.
  • Market Intelligence: Provide quality market intelligence, competitive market pricing, and customer feedback on products, pricing, events, and selling materials.
  • Product Expertise: Provide product expertise and sales support for assigned categories to achieve business goals. Train Account Executives both independently and with Supplier-Partners during sales meetings, category workshops, and other activities.
  • Assortment Input: Provide input on core and local assortments, new item introductions, and EB conversion opportunities.
  • Product Demonstrations: Perform product cuttings, present product features, advantages, and benefits, and utilize personalized offers and other promotional tools to increase EB penetration, target capture rate, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Demonstrate menu ideas and/or applications at customer locations, offering business solutions that help our customers succeed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Category Managers and Marketing to support the development, distribution, and deployment of various merchandising tools with sales teams and customers as part of the team-selling process.
  • Sampling Program: Support continuous process improvement of the Sampling program and leverage sampling to differentiate Ferraro-owned brands and close sales.
  • Sales Support: Track activities and results, collaborate on opportunities, and champion the team-selling process. Provide limited sales support to Account Executives for non-prioritized opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience: Comprehensive product knowledge in core Italian/pizza categories: cheese, tomato, flour, pizza boxes, protein toppings, and oils & seasonings required. Proficiency in Italian brands and the competitive Italian segment.
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with solid interpersonal, presentation, and training abilities required.
  • Foodservice: Experience in the foodservice industry is highly preferred.
  • Sales: Consultative selling skills are an advantage.
