A Day in the Life:

As our HR Specialist, your day begins with managing the bi-weekly payroll process. You ensure that timesheets are accurately recorded and submitted on time, collaborating with the finance team to appropriately allocate employee hours to various grants. Your mid-morning might involve coordinating pre-employment screenings, such as background checks and drug tests, and completing I-9 forms for new hires. Leading orientation sessions, you ensure that new employees have a seamless and welcoming start. You'll also create engaging onboarding videos to streamline this process.

In the afternoon, you focus on enhancing our organizational culture. You lead the Employee Engagement Committee, planning staff appreciation events and other activities to keep our team motivated. As a member of the DEI team, you help implement action plans to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace. Throughout the day, you maintain personnel files, support employees with HR-related queries, and assist with FMLA leave processes and ADA accommodation requests.

You Would Thrive in This Position If:

* You have a high attention to detail and can manage sensitive information with confidentiality. * You are proficient with HR tools and technology, including Excel, HRIS systems, and file sharing platforms. * You possess strong writing skills and can communicate effectively through emails, policy documents, and company communications. * You are comfortable with conflict resolution and engaging in tough conversations. * You are proactive and continuously seek to improve processes and create efficiencies. * You are excited about participating in strategic talent and culture initiatives, such as creating professional development opportunities.
