NG Corporate, LLC has an immediate opening for a Manager, Retirement Plan Administrator at our Charlotte, NC Headquarters location.  This position will report to the VP, Human Resources.  

Job Summary:

The Manager, Retirement Plan Administrator will be responsible for the strategic planning, administration, and compliance of the company’s retirement benefit programs, including both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) plans. This role requires a deep understanding of retirement plan management, regulatory requirements, and employee benefits communication. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent analytical abilities, and a commitment to enhancing employee satisfaction through effective retirement benefits management.  This position requires up to 10% travel and is hybrid work eligible, in accordance with company policy.

Major Job Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

  1. Strategic Planning and Management:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the company’s DB and DC retirement programs.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and competitiveness of retirement plans.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align retirement benefits with overall business objectives and workforce needs.
Defined Benefit Plan Administration:
  • Oversee the administration of the DB plan, ensuring accurate calculation and timely distribution of pension benefits.
  • Manage relationships with actuarial consultants, trustees, and other service providers.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of the DB plan to ensure financial health and compliance with ERISA and other regulatory requirements.
Defined Contribution Plan Administration:
  • Administer the DC plan, including 401(k) and other retirement savings programs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of contributions, withdrawals, and loans.
  • Oversee plan recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance activities.
Employee Communication and Education:
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees about their retirement benefits.
  • Conduct workshops, seminars, and one-on-one meetings to help employees understand their retirement options and make informed decisions.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to employees regarding retirement planning.
Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure all retirement plans comply with applicable federal and state regulations, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements.
  • Prepare and file required regulatory reports and disclosures.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits of retirement plans.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of benefits professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Perform as key member of the Pension Plan Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CEBS, CPA, CFA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in retirement plan administration, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution plans, including regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Proficiency in benefits administration software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Domestic travel (up to 10%)
  • Eligible for hybrid work (the hybrid work schedule is provisional and may be modified, based on business needs)
