Job Description:

The Payroll Tax Analyst provides assistance and support in meeting the objectives of the OneOncology payroll department for all payroll related tax responsibilities for OneOncology and affiliated employees; stays current on all payroll and tax related filings, including W-2, W-3, Form 941 and others including states where OneOncology and affiliates maintain employees; stays current on payroll tax laws for compliance with all legal entities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assures that all Federal and state/local payroll taxes are submitted timely and accurately; reviews all payroll reports for accuracy and detection of problems.
  • Oversees payroll withholding tax function to ensure that all proper tax filings are submitted timely and accurately to prevent costly penalties and fines from taxing authorities.
  • Investigates and responds to tax authority notices and correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Complete registrations for new tax jurisdictions as needed.
  • Works independently to solve payroll tax issues with all levels of staff, making complex decisions based on knowledge of payroll and tax laws.
  • Coordinates and/or completes payroll adjustments as needed to correct employee payroll tax issues.
  • Assist with reconciliations of payroll liability accounts and determines any corrective actions that need to be taken to ensure general ledger liability balances are accurate.
  • Monitors and keeps current with government regulations regarding payroll and related issues to ensure that OneOncology is compliant with all applicable regulations and laws.
  • Assists Accounting/Finance to provide internal and external auditors with information as requested.
  • Balance and reconcile for quarterly and year end filing.
  • Determines the proper handling of employee payments based on tax law.
  • Uses accepted best practices and specific knowledge and experience in overall job performance.
  • Supports the processing of W-2's and distribution and production of corrected forms and reprints.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of FLSA, employment laws and tax laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State tax forms and filing.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing
  • Knowledge of best practices and standard procedures for tax reporting.
Qualifications
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus.
  • Multi-state, multi-entity (FEIN) payroll processing, tax reconciliation, payments, and filings.
  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field (preferred).
  • Workday payroll processing and tax reporting (preferred)
  • ADP Smart Compliance experience a plus.
