Position Overview
The Division of Property Assessments offers guidance, expertise, and oversight to property assessors across the state, ensuring the effective management of Tennessee's property tax system. This division also supports reappraisal initiatives, provides technological solutions, and oversees the Tax Relief Program. We are looking for a Tax Relief Analyst to join our Nashville Tax Relief team, collaborating with management, staff, state entities, and local governments to facilitate the coordination and execution of division activities.
To excel in this role, candidates must successfully perform the essential duties outlined below:
- Review applications to verify eligibility, accuracy, and completeness.
- Draft correspondence for applicants and local government representatives.
- Analyze financial documents to assess eligibility.
- Interpret legal documents to ascertain ownership.
- Update and review tax relief reports utilized in processing.
- Assist with various accounting tasks.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
To be considered for this position, applicants should possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. A background in accounting or finance is preferred.
- Successful candidates will have the ability to build strong relationships with local government officials, colleagues, and other stakeholders while maintaining credibility.
- Detail-oriented individuals with strong organizational skills who can effectively interact with diverse personalities and organizational levels are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates should be comfortable operating in a modern office environment.
Compensation
