Accounting Intern
SUMMARY
Perform accounting functions such as accounts receivable, credit and collection, accounts payable, reporting of accounts receivable balances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Daily posting of customer payments
Customer contact for collection and information regarding deductions
Works with Quality and Materials group when customer issues arise
Works with Materials group on shipping/invoicing
Direct customer inquiries and phone calls as needed
Accounts receivable reports completed as needed
Update sales and report to appropriate personnel
Maintain Customer Price Lists in CMS.
Audit and print invoices daily for all customer shipments. Issue credits for quality-related issues and returns (after approvals by Quality Dept.).
Assist Plant Controller and Senior Accountants as required
All other duties as required
This position may require overtime

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Proof of associate or bachelor's degree program being completed currently by a community college or university; and related experience and/or training in the field of Accounting.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
