Position Summary:
The HR/Internal Communications Intern will provide support across various Human Resources functions. This role will focus on Compensation and Benefits, Talent Development, Talent Management, Training, Employee Relations, Payroll, and Administration, allowing for a comprehensive HR experience. The intern will be responsible for gathering information and creating internal communications, as well as assisting with internal communication events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support all HR functions including employee relations, talent development, compensation and benefits, training, and development.
- Assist with HR projects that align with emerging HR initiatives.
- Facilitate data collection and ensure adherence to project deadlines related to designated areas.
- Provide support to the HR Helpline and payroll teams with data entry and other related tasks.
- Develop and coordinate initiatives aimed at enhancing employee retention, job satisfaction, and effective employee relations.
- Collaborate with the activities team to support and communicate company-sponsored events.
- Engage in cross-functional projects, partnering with other departments such as marketing.
- Create and distribute monthly internal newsletters.
- Organize quarterly communication meetings, including travel to various sites.
- Ensure daily internal communications are updated and consistent.
- Maintain internal communication screens to ensure they are current.
- Assist with additional internal communications projects as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Human Resources or Administration.
- Minimal travel (10% or less) may be required.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources or pursuing a degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems is advantageous.
- Strong decision-making and organizational skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach are important.
- Strong analytical skills are preferred.
