The SRC Event Planner is a great opportunity for a student looking to gain experience in planning events on campus for the student population. As the Event Planner, the student is responsible for all aspects of their events including creation, development, and execution. This position must also be comfortable working individually and be open to feedback. The SRC Event Planner reports directly to the Assistant Director - Student & Engagement.
SHIFTS:
- Shifts Available: Various Hours Based on Programming. . Must work weekends and nights as needed
- Brainstorm and pitch new programming ideas/initiatives that can positively impact the student experience.
- Take the lead in the execution of multiple programs over the course of the semester.
- Responsible for marketing any events, including the creation of posters and assisting with social media.
- Collaborate with other student staff members on the creation and development of programs.
- Gather and discuss feedback from events in order to improve moving forward.
- Support Professional Staff with large scale Campus Life events.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by Professional Staff.
- Actively engaged in the campus community.
- Have experience using Microsoft Office and OneDrive.
- Ability to complete a storeroom order (accessing inventory list, looking up items, etc.)
- Knowledge of graphic design programs, such as Canva or PosterMyWall.
- Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed.
- 0-1 year of program planning experience.
- 0-1 year of managerial experience.
- Ability to upscale recipes to accommodate large amounts of production.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and adhering to standards of operational excellence, safety, efficiency and educational goals set by the CIA.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests, students, and faculty/staff.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
Successful applicant must be able to perform all related functions of the assignment which may include working nights and weekends, ability to bend reach and stand for long periods of time, lifting and carrying of items up to fifty (50) pounds, and the ability to withstand high ambient temperatures.
