Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Project Manager with extensive experience in heavy manufacturing and a robust background in supplier negotiation and management. The successful candidate will oversee procurement activities, ensure the timely delivery of quality materials, and lead projects aimed at improving procurement processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, negotiation, and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to support heavy manufacturing operations.

Manage the entire procurement process, from sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to ensuring timely delivery of materials.

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, prices, and terms to achieve the best value for the company.

Supplier Management:

Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service criteria.

Develop and maintain a supplier performance management program to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with company standards.

Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and performance standards.

Cost Management:

Analyze market trends and conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings.

Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines.

Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and project progress.

Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, contracts, and documentation.

Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, project status, and supplier performance to senior management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is a plus.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement within the heavy manufacturing industry.

Proven track record in supplier negotiation and management.

Strong project management skills with experience leading complex procurement projects.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Knowledge of global supply chain dynamics and international procurement practices.

Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing sites and supplier facilities. Travel may be required.
