National Sales Director

Summary:This national sales leader is responsible for building key relationships with major c-store and foodservice distributor customers, multi-unit restaurant, hotel, or other customers and growing net profit and revenue for the Away from Home Division. This person actively participates in planning and developing division objectives, policies, programs, sales activities, and participates in major customer calls as needed with Away from Home Market Managers. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals for customers accordingly.Position requires travel up to 75% of the time.Essential job functions:Directly solicits new account prospects and coordinates sales efforts on existing major customers.Meets with key clients in person and over the phone. Attends various food shows corporate outings, golf tournaments and special events.Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.Develops new account presentations and proposals. Delivers sales presentations to key clients as well as in coordination with Market Managers.Represents company at trade association meetings.Works with Wholesale Market Managers across the footprint to assist with sales calls when needed.Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as accounting, marketing, manufacturing, and logistics to develop and deliver products/specificationsresponsive to customer needs and market opportunities.Additional Responsibilities:Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Advanced knowledge of sales and marketing principles.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to make presentations to large groups and corporate executives.Ability to negotiate contracts.Ability to establish successful working relationships with appropriate industry representatives.Education and Experience Required: High school diploma required but a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field is a strong plus.
