Position Overview

Join our dynamic team as the National Life Sales Director, where you'll forge and sustain impactful business relationships with distribution partners across a 14-state territory. You'll play a crucial role in marketing our life insurance products to agents, driving success and innovation in the industry.

Essential Job Functions

  • Cultivate and maintain robust business relationships with distribution partners (IMO, BGA, MGA, etc.) through regular, systematic calls.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new downline agents, ensuring they are well-versed in our company philosophy, products, and business methods.
  • Provide ongoing education to downline agents on company products and practices, supporting their sales efforts and guiding them through the underwriting process.
  • Drive sales production within the distribution channel, ensuring performance metrics are met by monitoring distribution partners, agencies, and individual agents.
  • Analyze the distribution channel landscape, reporting on competitiveness and suggesting product, service, and operational changes.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for the distribution channel, including developing marketing strategies to achieve sales goals.
  • Lead and participate in sales and educational meetings, fostering communication between the Pekin Home Office and the field, promoting sales, and educating the agency force on new products and industry trends.
  • Train agencies on using our intranet website and life illustration software.
  • Maintain detailed Agency Call Reports, documenting dates, times, and discussion points for monthly calls.
  • Attend periodic meetings at the Pekin Home Office as needed.
  • Travel throughout the 14-state territory to meet with distribution partners, typically 12-24 times per year.
  • Monitor distribution channel growth, expanding the field support team as needed to meet maturity targets.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of industry experience, specifically in sales within the assigned territory.
Certifications & Licenses
  • Life Insurance Producer's license, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), or FCP designations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills with the ability to speak confidently in public.
  • Proven ability to maintain a positive image and build strong relationships.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, adept at managing multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate and recognize opportunities and problems.
  • Expertise in setting program goals and objectives that align with the strategic plan.
