The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Business & Financial Services Division.
This position serves as an Accountant and is responsible for 1) Financial Analysis and Accounting by reviewing various reports and queries to identify unusual account balances that would indicate accounting errors or potential funding concerns; 2) Federal Reporting; 3) Cash Control that includes analyzing draw methods and procedures to ensure the department is maximizing federal funds; and 4) Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
- Knowledge of accounting systems including the ability to analyze and interpret data from various reports and information maintained by the system.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to interpret financial data and formulate solutions/recommendations to resolve issues.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, databases, email, internet, and other computer programs.
- Knowledge of procedures of governmental accounting.
- Meet minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
- One-year relevant professional accounting experience.
- Other combinations of directly related education/experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
