Halff has an immediate opening for a Senior Roadway Engineer (PE) to join our Florida Transportation Practice in Orlando, Tampa or Tavares, FL. The ideal candidate will bring civil engineering design experience with a focus on delivering and/or managing projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Candidates experience should include leading technical approach and delivery of roadway tasks, and/or leading delivery of transportation design projects for FDOT, with Districts 1, 5 and 7 preferable. In addition to project delivery responsibilities, candidates must also demonstrate the ability for business development and marketing, developing and maintaining professional relationships within the industry. The candidate will work closely with the Transportation Team Leader in Central Florida and the Transportation Practice Leader in developing growth strategy for the region. Senior Roadway Engineer (PE) - Transportation Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in civil, public works or transportation project delivery, with at least 4 years post PE License preferred
  • Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida
  • Ability to lead a project and supervise technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to design and review in MicroStation
  • Ability to design, oversee and review roadway projects for FDOT and local municipalities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The candidate should have a positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player and a person of high character with a focus on quality, integrity and success.
  • Flexible on location and hours
