Pay Range: $75-80/hr for 12 months
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Safety Engineer to contribute to our safety initiatives. The successful candidate will focus on safety evaluation methodologies, risk assessment, and the creation of safety documentation.
Key responsibilities include assessing and proposing safety features, controls, and standards for system architecture, software, and operational procedures. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, guide junior engineers, and engage collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Conduct hazard assessments and software safety evaluations
- Advise on safety standards in system architecture and operational procedures
- Prepare and present technical briefings
- Ensure design execution and assist in testing processes
- Engage in incident investigations and implement corrective measures
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-882 and Department of Defense standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Experience supporting government Safety Review Boards
- Understanding of Human Factors Engineering
- Background in missile and launcher systems
- Knowledge of model-based engineering principles
- Proficiency in DOORS requirements management software
