Job Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for Human Resources and other related duties for all the Branches within the District and reports to the District Vice President & Regional HR Director. This will include an emphasis on employees, retention programs, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, and ensuring legal compliance with all company policies and procedures. Administrative tasks, including managing and overseeing records and generating reports.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Develop retention programs.
Provide HR guidance to supervisors and managers.
Ensure adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.
Facilitate orientation and training.
Responsible for oversight of the bi-weekly processing of the hourly and salaried payroll.
Oversight of updates and maintenance on the Employee Calendar for all benefit hours as part of the payroll processing.
Assists with the administration of employee records in Day Force via the Employee Kiosk, including benefit changes, name changes, tax exemption changes, and address changes.
Maintains compliance with the HR Audit requirements and obtains a passing score.
Receives and addresses employee questions regarding company policies, procedures, and benefit plans.
Administration of benefits, including medical, dental, short- and long-term disability insurance, leave of absence, and open enrollment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, or related software.
Ability to produce PowerPoint presentations and present at company functions.
Assist with workers' compensation claims and OSHA requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Region HR Director.
Responsible for 7 branch sites, including locations in California and Oregon.
Required Skills:
A bachelor's degree in human resources, organization development, business management, business administration, or a similar field from an accredited university is preferred.
Minimum 3 years' experience in Human Resources.
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in payroll systems.
Experience working with Unions is a plus.
Proven ability to manage multiple sites.
Above-average knowledge of California state regulations and employment labor laws.
