POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Manager/Manager of Finance M&A will be responsible for leading detailed analysis and financial modeling to support the Companys asset acquisition process and corporate M&A opportunities. This position will have frequent exposure to the C-Suite and work closely with other members of the M&A team including those in various disciplines including Engineering, Geology, GIS, Land, etc. Candidates should be well versed in the intricacies of upstream oil and gas valuations and how assets can fit into a larger portfolio.

The Senior Manager/Manager of Finance M&A will report to the Vice President of Corporate Finance and Treasurer.

Job Location: In office located in Houston, TX

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Lead the financial analysis on potential acquisition targets.
  • Spearhead the creation of investment committee memos, including coordination with other disciplines (Engineer, Geology, GIS, Land, Corporate Finance team, etc.)
  • Present analysis to C-suite, investment committee and communicate key valuation assumptions.
  • Identify and implement improvements in the acquisition process.
  • Develop strong relationships and collaborate effectively with key executive leadership, internal stakeholders on cross-functional teams, and the Board.
  • Provide support to the Investor Relations function for M&A related communications, including the development of presentations, analysis, and quarterly earnings-related items.
  • Manage the deliverables, work quality and development of team members on the M&A Finance team.
  • Attract, develop, and retain a strong team of Finance associates and/or analysts, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or other related field is required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience required.
  • Oil and gas industry experience, with exposure to upstream and minerals preferred.
  • Proven ability to model and value upstream oil and gas assets.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple ongoing projects to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to create high quality presentations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, including messaging skills, applied confidently and consistently in a high-pressure environment under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to synthesize information in a clear manner and communicate technical information to technical and non- technical professionals.
  • Effective networking skills and experience building trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed sense of accountability and drive for results.
  • High proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and FactSet.

WORK CONDITIONS:

Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others. Occasionally, work may be performed from home, before or after normal work hours or on weekends. Periodic travel as business requires.
