Overview of the Role
As a Senior M&A Consultant within ENGIE North America Inc., you will play a pivotal role in steering the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) initiatives for the Utility Scale Flexible Generation Development sector across the United States and Canada. Your primary focus will be on the acquisition of standalone energy storage projects and platforms, ensuring alignment with our global business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and facilitate M&A transactions, ensuring effective coordination of activities both internally and externally.
- Lead negotiations with counterparties, maintaining alignment in discussions and advancing the transaction process.
- Develop comprehensive materials to support internal governance and decision-making processes.
- Assist the M&A team in transaction management, process enhancement, and strategic market entry initiatives.
- Maintain accurate transaction data and contribute to group reporting efforts.
- Act as the primary lead (and occasionally secondary lead) on transactions, managing workstreams effectively.
- Collaborate with various teams to gather and maintain commercial and competitive intelligence.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related analytical field.
- At least seven (7) years of progressive experience in the energy sector, with a focus on roles within development, utilities, banking, investment, or similar entities.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities, with proven experience in creating and utilizing detailed financial models in Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of energy markets and industry dynamics.
- Strong commercial insight coupled with advanced analytical and technical skills.
- Proficiency in designing processes and executing programs in a cross-functional setting.
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Additional Information
- This position supports a hybrid work model.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 30% of the time, including occasional overnight trips.
- Adherence to all ENGIE ethics and safety protocols is mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $112,000 - $172,500 USD annually. This range reflects the average expected compensation for a qualified candidate.
Actual salary may vary based on factors such as geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, and internal pay alignment.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
