You will be developing the design basis documents to provide the design basis, mutually agreed upon between customer and Hitachi Energy, in a comprehensive document serving the needs of detailed design, verification and acceptance of delivery. You will be specifying/Calculating main components parameters of the power system equipment such as main busbar, circuit breaker, disconnectors, CT, PT, surge arrestors, capacitor, reactor, Valves & Cooling and alike. You will be establishing equipment requirement specifications for sub suppliers, based on input from the system design studies above. Verifying supplier technical documents and equipment testing requirements. Insulation coordination study and specify the design basis of the main components for the STATCOM system. Short-circuit currents study for different fault locations for the STATCOM system and developing the protection coordination report. You will be specifying the STATCOM Control Strategy and Operation Modes for specified project. You will be establishing the station main circuit single line diagram and protection block diagrams. You will be developing the acceptance performance test procedure as per the requirement in the contract and guiding commissioning team to conduct the acceptance performance testing. System design engineer also take the lead engineer role on low to medium complexity STATCOM projects and shall be efficiently cooperating with every cross-function interface, make sure the understanding of each other’s need is sufficient, and leading all engineering disciplines to ensure the on time and high- quality delivery of the specified projects. Your background: You hold a Bachelor or above degree in relevant area of Engineering in Power System and Power Electronics, should have minimum 5-10 years of experience. Should have good knowledge about the application of Power Electronics on STATCOM (SVG) / Power Quality Solution project. Should have knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose, such as Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer and measuring equipment, Circuit Breakers, Disconnector, Surge Arrester, Valves & Cooling, etc. Knowledge in selection, sizing and integration of above equipment based on customer functional specification. Preferably knowledge on GB/IEC/IEEE standards. Preferably experience of power system simulation tools such as PSSE, EMTDC/PSCAD and calculations in MATLAB / Mathcad.
