Power Management/Electrical Design Engineer Job Overview:
This role involves a diverse range of engineering tasks focused on the planning and design of electrical products, tools, machinery, and other electrically operated devices. Collaboration with various engineering teams is essential to enhance production quality, efficiency, and output.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Functions:
- Lead project management and design initiatives for new power products.
- Provide technical guidance and support for existing power product lines.
- Prepare proposals that include risk assessments for potential new developments.
- Engage in product reviews and engineering discussions.
- Design and develop switching power supplies and ultracapacitor-based systems.
- Conduct PCB design and layout, with experience in Cadence OrCad/Allegro PCB Designer being advantageous.
- Organize work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to technical specifications.
- Assess the progress of other engineers and evaluate the outcomes of their projects.
- Maintain fluency in relevant technologies and application domains.
- Produce comprehensive, accurate, and industry-standard electrical schematics.
- Occasional travel to client sites for installation, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Mentor junior engineers in design principles and critical thinking skills.
- Must possess authorization to work in the US.
Supervisory Duties: Oversee junior electrical engineers and CAD drafters.
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated individual with a proven track record of achieving objectives and overcoming challenges.
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Desirable previous design experience in areas such as energy storage, power generation, renewable energy, and power conversion.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Work Environment:
- On-site office and laboratory setting.
