**Jay Peak Resort** **Childcare Manager** **Childcare - Jay, VT - Full Time** * Shall follow all state child care/Preschool regulations as required by law. * Shall manage the program design and curriculum to ensure the provision of developmentally appropriate activities and materials. * Shall communicate with Lead Teachers on social skills, positive self-concepts, language, literacy, physical development, health and creative expression on each enrolled child. * The program and curriculum shall provide all children enrolled equal opportunity to participate in all activities appropriate to their age/development. * Shall be present 50% of the time children are in the Center. * Shall provide a safe environment for all children. * Oversee supervision of children and treat all children and staff with dignity and respect. Ensures that parents/guests are greeted professionally and politely when dropping off or picking up children. Ensures that the highest standard of professional behavior is maintained always. * Manage to resolve conflict between children and staff in a timely manner. * Responsible as a Mandated Reporter to report any suspicious activity or concerns with child safety. All suspicious activity will be reported to the Child Care Director who will then take necessary actions in reporting the case to the DCF * Operates the Center within budgetary guidelines, assisting to create and maintain the Childcare budget. * Authorizes purchase of instructional materials and teaching aids such as books, toys, and games designed to stimulate learning. * Interviews & hires childcare center & private sitter staff. * Confers with parents regarding facility activities, policies, and enrollment procedures. * Confers with teaching staff regarding child's behavioral or learning problems, and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences. * Documents injury reports and arranges medical attention for ill or injured child in accordance with parental instructions. * Performs classroom teaching duties during absence of regular Lead Teacher. * Maintains staffing schedules for childcare staff & private sitters, adjusting as necessary to maintain staff to child ratios daily. * Reviews and evaluates facility activities to ensure conformance to state and local regulations. * Reviews and approves menu plans and food purchases. * Attends necessary manager and planning meetings as required. * Monitors weekly and monthly expenses of recurring children and estimated cost per child for tax preparation. Ensures timely payment is received for the care of all children. * Organize and maintain all necessary staffing folders as required by regulations. Ensure that staff receive all necessary training to maintain their levels of certification. * Meet annually with the State of Vermont Licensure for evaluation of Center. * Plan all fundraising activities and field trips. * Attends weekly Resort operational meetings

works with various Sales and Events when Resort childcare is contracted. * Submits and maintains weekly staff payroll. * Ensures reservations are processed professionally, within capacity for all employee staff children, resort guests, off property clients and private sitter requests. * Follows up on billing inquiries & maintains proper financial accounting records for accounting. * Works with various Resort departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance to ensure the center is operationally up to expectations. * Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position. * Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate; or at least an associate degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services. * Successful completion of twenty?one (21) college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger. * A Vermont Early Childhood and Afterschool Program Director Step One (1) Certificate; or successful completion of a three (3) college credit course in program management for early care and education or school age care and education, or in staff supervision related to early care and education of children; and a three (3) college credit course in curriculum. * A three (3) college credit course in managing an early care and education program that includes budgeting and financial management.
