Prospecting and Lead Generation
: One of the primary responsibilities of a business development representative is to identify and generate potential leads for the company. This involves researching and identifying prospective clients or customers within the target market, utilizing various channels such as cold calling, email outreach, and social media engagement to establish initial contact, and qualifying leads based on their interest, needs, and potential fit for the company's products or services.

Building and Nurturing Client Relationships: Building and nurturing relationships with prospective clients throughout the sales process. This involves engaging with leads to understand their business needs, challenges, and objectives, educating them about the company's products or services, presenting tailored solutions or proposals to address their specific requirements, and providing ongoing support and communication to foster trust and rapport.

Sales Pipeline Management: Another key duty of a business development representative is to manage the sales pipeline effectively. This includes tracking and managing leads through various stages of the sales process, updating CRM systems or sales databases with relevant information and communication history, prioritizing tasks and follow-ups based on lead status and urgency, and collaborating with sales and marketing teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of efforts to drive conversions and revenue growth.

This particular role will focus on pipeline generation for our Enterprise Browser.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is paramount. This includes both verbal and written communication skills, as well as active listening. You need to be able to articulate ideas clearly, understand client needs, and build rapport.
  • Sales Etiquette: Understanding sales techniques such as prospecting, lead generation, and qualifying leads. You should be comfortable with making cold calls, sending and managing a large list of emails, and conducting sales presentations.
  • Team Collaboration: Business development often requires collaboration with various internal teams, such as specialist teams, marketing, product, and customer support. Being able to effectively collaborate with colleagues from different departments, communicate cross-functionally, and work towards common goals is essential for driving cohesive and coordinated business development efforts.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Business development often involves identifying challenges and finding solutions. You should be able to think creatively, adapt to changing situations, and troubleshoot problems effectively.
  • Research Skills: Research is key to understanding your target market, identifying potential leads, and staying informed about industry trends. You should be adept at using online resources, conducting market research, and analyzing data to inform your strategies.
  • Time Management: Prioritizing tasks and managing your time efficiently is essential in a fast-paced business development role. You'll need to juggle multiple responsibilities, follow up with leads promptly, and meet deadlines consistently.
    Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
