Now Rainier Flight Service, operating in four locations in the Seattle area, is the premier and largest flight school in the Pacific Northwest and nationally recognized as a leader in the training industry.

At the heart of our operations are the talented flight instructors that serve our clients directly. Selecting, hiring, onboarding, and training instructors to Rainier’s high standards, and to our regulatory obligations, is a function that requires organization and coordination of the many inputs. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Flight Training Program Specialist to coordinate and plan critical activities in the Chief Flight Instructor’s office.

The ideal candidate is courteous and professional with customers, and collaborative with peers. They have a demonstrated ability to coordinate large volumes of complex administrative tasks with strong attention to detail. They communicate clearly and effectively and are superior problem solvers.

The position is in Renton, WA, co-located and reporting to the Chief Flight Instructor for the four locations at Rainier. The role is fast paced and dynamic, and with colleagues that are friendly and fun. Compensation includes benefits such as health and dental insurance, and 401k.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Organize flight instructor applications and schedule interviews
  • Schedule flight instructor indoctrination, including people, materials, and aircraft
  • Manage flight training documentation including enrollment, graduation, and records check
  • Monitor student training progress to flag deficiencies to appropriate parties
  • Manage payroll adjustments for flight instructors
  • Respond to Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA) requests for former employees
  • Audit instructor records for currency including Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) authorization for training, 141 flight school audits, and pilot required medical certificates
  • Manage instructor system permissions for billing, aircraft, and course approvals
  • Monitor and report training progress for contract agreements, such as educational institutions and student loan vendors
  • Organize, manage, and file documentation for training exams
  • Perform duties as assigned by Chief Instructor

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of office and services experience and/or demonstrated abilities
