The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $111,544 to $139,431
Position Description
The Credit Manager will manage the day-to-day functions of the Power Trading Desk, Procurement Credit and Wind Origination group (including Renewable Energy Certificates) as well as manage a team of Senior, Career Level and/or Junior Credit Analysts.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement established Corporate Credit Policies for the investigation, monitoring and reporting of all credit-related exposures company-wide, including all facets of electricity, gas and derivatives trading.
- Contribute to the development of Company Credit Strategy.
- Contribute to identification and mitigation of credit risks within the company. Provide alternatives and recommendations to internal and external customers.
- Oversee the generation of daily credit exposure reports and monitor power and financial power counterparty credit exposure.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of energy trading counterparties and structured contract counterparties by performing financial and qualitative analysis. Review the credit evaluation of the credit analysts for approval or recommendation to Director of Credit and/or Group Risk Director.
- Monitor long term, structured deal counterparty credit exposure on a daily basis, assess daily changes in credit exposure make recommendations to management based on evaluation of credit exposure reports.
- Review and assess the credit aspects of contracts related to power and financial trading along with long-term structured contracts, including Power Purchase Agreements and Interchange & Exchange Agreements, Letters of Credit and Guarantees.
- Work closely with IT personnel in the design of daily, weekly, month and ad hoc credit reports.
- Work closely with Risk Management and energy trading personnel on long term deal structuring and approval.
- Undertake special projects as assigned.
- Ensure all relevant internal controls are followed and develop new controls as needed.
- 7+ years' experience in the field of Credit, Energy Trading, Risk Management and / or Finance or an equivalent combination of experience in any of these areas or other applicable field.
- B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Power and Financial Power Trading and Origination and familiarity with Renewable Energy Certificates and Renewable Power transactions.
- Familiarity with electricity and gas Purchase and Sale Agreements, ISDA Agreements, EEI Agreements, NAESB Agreements, Gas EDI Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, Netting Agreements and collateral documents, including Guarantees, Letters of Credit and escrow agreements.
- Familiarity with ROME CreditRisk and ZaiNet.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, with an emphasis on Word and Excel.
- Ability to work with trading and risk management software systems and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with legal and business personnel to negotiate and resolve contract issues.
- MBA or related Master's Degree.
- Previous management experience.
- Ability to foster and participate in a productive team environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to analyze project risks and proactively identify solutions with a flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving.
- Maintains effectiveness during procedural/organizational changes and when dealing with varying personality styles and tasks.
- Effectively provides and receives information orally in individual and group situations. Written expression is clear, concise, and conveys the desired message.
- Ability to navigate and succeed in a highly matrixed reporting structure, preferably at an international company.
