Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for assisting with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR Assistant supports with responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment law.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The HR Assistant has partial responsibility for these areas:
- Support recruiting and staffing efforts
- Assist with the onboarding process by posting jobs, attending job fairs, running background checks, scheduling interviews, verifying I-9 documents, and completing new hire paperwork
- Data entry and recordkeeping (including entering timesheet adjustments and maintaining employee schedules in eTime)
- Manage all employee personnel, benefits, and training files
- Conduct audits and recommend corrective action
- Participate in and ensure compliance to SOX and CA Wage and Hour regulations
- Coordinate and assist with employee events
- Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office
- Assist with other various human resources projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills required to interface with employees and management personnel.
- Candidates must have intermediate skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be a detail oriented/organized individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- High initiative and problem solving skills
- Experience with ADP and eTime a plus
Experience & Education
- Working towards Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resource Management required
- Introductory understanding of legal compliance (EEO, FMLA/Worker's Compensation Laws) preferred
