Position Summary

The Real Estate/Property Specialist provides leadership and administrative oversight of the company's portfolio of over 35 locations across the country. Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, this person will have input into the overall real estate strategy while looking for ways to optimize for operations and cost. The Specialist will work collaboratively with other key departments within the company (eg, IT, Human Resources, Legal/Compliance) to ensure all necessary requirements are being met.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead site selection for new locations, including negotiations of new leases and renewals; interface with property managers on office design and specifications
  • Work closely with operations to understand property and location needs. Interface with cross-functional departments (IT, HR, Compliance) to make sure all factors are considered to ensure compliance and security
  • Routine assistance with location-specific needs and issues that may arise that require attention and communication with landlords
  • Compiles data from headcount projections and business plans to enable forecasting for company space and facility requirements
  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, accruals, CAM estimates and reconciliation, and monthly reports
  • Analyze real estate and facilities costs and make recommendations to drive savings
  • Build and foster direct relationships with building lease companies and/or landlords
  • Maintain data and documentation on all active leases (facilities and equipment)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 + years of Facilities management experience
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate lease agreements
  • Highly organized with attention to detail; strong business acumen
  • Experience in project planning and coordination
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills, with the ability to optimize the use of all available resources and deliver on multiple priorities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing a property portfolio
