  • Plan and carry out special studies and analyses of SBIR/STTR award outcomes and follow-on progress under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Work with staff to coordinate program evaluation activities and projects.
  • Work with staff to exchange information and maintain current knowledge of the field of program evaluation and monitoring.
  • Work with business intelligence databases to track the commercial progress and impact of SBIR/STTR funded technologies.
  • Analyze data using object-oriented software to help staff evaluate programs and initiatives.
  • Work with business intelligence databases to create custom trackers to track progress of portfolio companies.
  • Investigate potential data sources for use to follow-up with the long-term outcomes of technologies funded through the SBIR/STTR program.
  • Design and develop custom databases with user-friendly interfaces based on organizational needs.
  • Assist in the management and day to day maintenance of a database that contains award outcomes documents.
  • Participate in related meetings; gather and prepare relevant materials for distribution; schedule meetings; prepare relevant background materials.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, researchers, and applicants.
  • Correspond with applicants to resolve concerns or respond to inquiries under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Other duties as assigned within area of responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Economics or a closely related specialty field and 5 years of experience in any occupation/position providing experience in business intelligence analytics (e.g. Scientific Program Manager, Grant Analyst, Marketing Intern, etc.)
  • 5 years of experience with data mining and data manipulation using object-oriented analytic tools including R and/or SQL.
  • 5 years of experience analyzing quantitative data, including selecting and applying appropriate models or statistical methods, such as linear regression, and logistic regression.
  • 2 years of experience analyzing quantitative health data.
  • 5 years of experience interpreting analytical results and explaining trends and variances.
  • 5 years of experience using external databases.


Hybrid position - at least 1 day per week in office. Position may be assigned to work at various, unanticipated client locations.

LOCATION: 1902 Reston Metro Plaza, Reston VA 20190.
