Position Overview:
ICF is on the lookout for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Energy and Sustainability Specialist. This role is pivotal in assisting federal government clients in the implementation and enhancement of their energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Energy and Sustainability Specialist, you will:
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to formulate local, regional, and national strategies aimed at boosting participation in voluntary energy and decarbonization initiatives.
  • Create and develop communication materials, outreach programs, and training resources, including newsletters, case studies, website content, webinars, and in-person events.
  • Engage with industrial energy and sustainability managers to promote program participation.
  • Support partner recruitment, onboarding, and continuous assistance to optimize program engagement.
  • Maintain comprehensive records in a customer relationship management system.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, and decarbonization policies and programs.
  • Assist in project management tasks, including deliverables, staffing, and budget oversight.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, public policy, science, business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in energy and sustainability programs within commercial and public sectors.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to devise strategic solutions for client challenges.
  • Experience in energy efficiency initiatives for industrial or commercial facilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  • Proficient analytical capabilities and computer skills, including Microsoft applications.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional desirable qualifications include:
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with public sector buildings or energy efficiency service providers.
  • Proficiency in writing reports, articles, and other communication materials.
  • Experience in energy and emissions analysis.
  • Familiarity with tools and platforms such as ENERGY STAR, DOE Better Buildings/Better Plants, and LEED.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
