Coordinate all gross receipts, personal property and sales tax matters
Communicate with Taxing Authorities to find accurate information on upcoming payments, due dates, and accrued penalties and interest if applicable
Ensure all gross receipts, payroll, personal property and sales taxes are paid on a timely basis to take advantage of any discounts for early payment
Maintain tax calendar and digital/online payment tracker, using Excel, OneDrive, and/or any other tracking methods as directed by management to ensure no payments are missed
Assist in organizing and processing various department and software system reports as directed
Perform other duties as assigned, including set-up of new spreadsheets, data analysis, and summaries using Excel and other programs
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For (Minimum qualifications)
Must be a self-starter and work both independently and as a team
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
Must become proficient with various tax and accounting software and can learn new software functions quickly while maintaining a high level or proficiency
Prefer 1-3 years prior experience in a high-volume accounting or tax department with a strong working knowledge of business, payroll, and sales taxes
Experience with AvaTax software a plus
