Job DescriptionJob Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure compliance with all

necessary state and local business license and tax liabilities required for

business activities. This role requires effective collaboration with

government agencies, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to

facilitate the licensing process.

Essential Functions 

1. Monitor state and/or local licensing‐related requirements applicable

to retail store locations or other company business activities.

2. Complete tax analyses to determine business license and tax

liabilities, including gross receipts filings.

3. Ability to collaborate effectively with government agencies, internal

stakeholders (including Executive Leadership), and regulatory bodies

to gather necessary documents and facilitate the licensing process.

4. Maintain an accurate record of licensing documents and adhere to

compliance while performing payment processing and

accounting duties, such as payment reconciliations and journal

entries.  

5. Assist with mediating issues at the store level that could impact

licensure and business operations. (e.g. inspections, violations)

6. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose;

ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

7. Coordinate research and obtain licenses for new applications, new

store openings, and economic impact analyses.

8. Work with Licensing Specialist or Supervisor and/or individually lead

licensing projects.

9. Serve as liaison for the Licensing Department between internal

departments (such as Merchandise, Construction, Real Estate,

Company Housing, etc.) in order to maintain regulatory compliance

as well as any reporting, as needed

10. Coordinate with third‐party consultants to facilitate business tax

payments and audits

11. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

 Bachelor’s degree in related business field preferred, accounting

preferred  

 Minimum of 1‐2 years of multi‐state general retail licensing experience

preferred
