Civil Engineer

American Engineering is actively seeking Civil Engineer professionals in our Chesapeake, VA office who are eager to be part of a growing engineering firm.

As part of American Engineering, individuals will play a critical role within the design teams, creating solutions for projects within the Land Development and / or Water Resources sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating the design and development of a variety of civil engineering and land planning projects.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with AutoCAD and CAD / Civil 3D.
  • PE preferred (or can obtain shortly after starting).
  • Strong working knowledge in Civil drafting road plans, commercial site plans, and residential subdivisions
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and spoken.
  • Experience with grading, drainage and stormwater management design, and erosion and sediment control a PLUS.
  • Eager to learn and grow as an individual.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working on-site.
  • Willing to relocate or commute to the Raleigh area.
