Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Manager, Volunteer Services will direct the provision of volunteer services in the hospital emphasizing the focus on patients and families. The Manager will provide leadership for developing and motivating the volunteers and the volunteer staff to meet the needs of the departments and comply at all times with Auxiliary Bylaws and Ballad Health Corporate Volunteer Department Guidelines, Policies and Procedures. This individual is responsible for cost effective management of the department, including budget, resource allocation, coordination of Auxiliary fundraising events. The Manager will seek out innovative ways to grow the number of active adult and junior volunteers and create new ways volunteers can assist the hospital facility and its patients and families. When opportunities are available within the hospital, the Manager may process a limited number of non-affiliated students who request to job shadow. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for planning and organizing annual volunteer recognition/holiday/Auxiliary luncheons if appropriate. The Manager shall serve as the liaison between the hospital and the local Auxiliary board. The Manager may, or may not, be totally responsible for the gift shop function and gift shop employees, however the Manager will maintain responsibility for staffing the gift shop with volunteers and supporting gift shop needs. The Manager shall provide volunteer support to patient experience team through various activities and data collection. The Manager will also have hospital specific responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree preferred, or a minimum five years of experience in a Volunteer Program either as a volunteer and/or in a volunteer supervision role. Hospital based experience is preferred for the success of this position.
Valid and active Volunteer Administration certification from CAVS or SHVL perferred
