Assist manager in developing and pursuing leads for new business in various firm offices, practice areas and industry sectors. Work with practice groups, teams, and office attorneys, in conjunction with manager and autonomously as appropriate, to determine effective, detailed approaches to pursuing new business and initiates implementation and follow-up. Run point on assigned customized pitches, responds to RFPs, and develops other marketing materials for new business opportunities and client meetings. This includes participation in discussions about strategic approach, alternative fee scenarios, and production of business development materials. Coach attorneys on business development, including individual business plans, and helps attorneys focus on practical, effective deliverables. Tracks all results stemming from these efforts. Serve as project manager for events for assigned offices, practice areas, teams and industries. This includes overseeing all aspects of an event, specifically theme, logistics, internal and external communication, budget, and follow-up activities. Manage project expenditures to assure budgets are controlled and events and programs are cost-effective. Market and represent the firm to external audiences (including clients, prospects, referral sources, and vendors) at conferences, seminars, networking and client events. Review in-depth research and analysis of individuals, companies, industries, and competitors provided by the library and research services team to determine a strategy for business development outreach. Help manager develop new legal service offerings that will capitalize on market, regulatory, industry, and geopolitical changes so that the firm is on the forefront of anticipating client needs. Help onboard new specialists by showing them how to use various firm and marketing department tools (InterAction, WinFD, MySite, ChromeRiver) and training them on how to handle alerts, announcements, and invoices. Provide leadership, mentorship, and assistance to other specialists. Participate in management and maintenance of department resources and information (bios, directory listings, mailing lists, InterAction, website, experience database, marketing and business development intranet site). Performs other duties as assigned.

5-7 years of marketing or communications experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, English or Communications required. Work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to work with personnel at all levels internally and externally. Strong attention to detail with the ability to proofread. Ability to handle multiple projects proactively, simultaneously, and timely. Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel and Word).

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows:

In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications.
