The Claims Compliance Analyst will assist the Claims organization in achieving department compliance goals. The Claims Compliance Analyst is an individual contributor role designed to principally lead one or more compliance operational activities. The Claims Compliance Analyst is accountable to contribute in every way possible to execute established compliance initiatives. Job Responsibilities * Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers * Gather, analyze, and distribute compliance information to satisfy needs of business partners, and to facilitate appropriate outcomes * Maintain understanding of Claims and Claims Compliance departmental service standards and guidelines, systems, workflows, reports, forms, products, and other information needed to complete work assignments * Complete assigned daily compliance support activities timely and accurately * Contribute assistance that enhances and enables achievement of compliance objectives by demonstrating teamwork and collaboration to elevate partner and customer service * Look for ways to improve compliance with state and federal laws and regulations * Analyze and understand implications of the business environment, including compliance processes * Assist with development and delivery of compliance training * Analyze the various aspects of a business activity, including compliance processes (both manual and automated) and create data import files for various compliance processes * Provide analytical support for various compliance reporting activities * Create compliance reports to satisfy user requests, data sampling, project analysis, or testing verification * Stay abreast of changes in compliance procedures and identify and communicate compliance process enhancement opportunities to management * Lead or assist with departmental and organizational projects Certification * Insurance certifications or affiliation with industry group a plus Work Experience * Experience creating and understanding insurance analytics highly desirable * Experienced practitioner of process analysis and modelling a plus * Experience with claims handling processes and systems a must * Experience in workers' compensation claims highly desirable * Experience with project management, Quality Assurance, auditing, and a plus Skill Sets * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent written, listening, and oral communication skills; ability to communicate technical information in a business-friendly manner * Strong desire for continuous improvement * Ability to ask probing questions to understand root causes of issues * Attention to detail and focused on accuracy * Excellent collaborative skills and facilitation skills to drive issues to closure * Strong organization and time leadership skills * Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products * Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team * Able to work in diverse teams, under tight deadlines, to deliver quality * Commitment to delivering excellent client service Who we are: Markel Group (NYSE - MKL) a fortune 500 company with over 60 offices in 20+ countries, is a holding company for insurance, reinsurance, specialist advisory and investment operations around the world.
