**JOB DESCRIPTION: Instructor**
Are you interested in sharing your technical knowledge and skills to help inspire students to pursue STEM careers? We are looking for highly motivated, energetic, and dedicated problem solvers who want to be instructors at TryEngineering Summer Institute.
The TryEngineering Summer Institute is a nine-day, co-ed residential summer camp to introduce rising 9th through 12th grade students to engineering and technology and inspire them to consider STEM careers. The program will be held this summer at the following exciting locations
**The University of Pennsylvania **in Philadelphia, PA
Our proprietary curriculum was designed specifically for this program by IEEE to be not only educational on an introductory, college level, but to be hands-on and fun. There are no tests and quizzes, to create a stress free learning environment for every student of every skill level. Our classes are small so students receive plenty of personalized help and guidance. We also feature in-camp speakers like engineers, we host speaker panels, and we even go on field trips off-campus to cool spots where we can see engineering in action.
Class is typically 9am - 4pm. Be prepared to be in class early to get set up and stay after 4 to clean up, handle stragglers, etc. You are responsible for the students whenever you are around
- even if that’s outside of class hours.
**University of Pennsylvania **in Philadelphia, PA

**Session 2**:July 25 - August 2, 2024
**Who are you?**:

- **_You’re an organized, problem-solving manager. _** You love fine-tuning operational logistics, ensuring program efficiency, and learning new strategies for driving overall performance.
- **_You’re ready to grow. _** You know that true mastery requires commitment, effort, thoughtful feedback, personal reflection, and implementation of lessons learned.
**_-You’re knowledgeable in your field. _** You’re someone who knows engineering like the back of your hand and has plenty of cool ideas to keep our campers entertained and engaged during their class time.
**Responsibilities**:
- Attend all Job Trainings. This will include remote sessions by zoom, and the staff training on site in the days leading up to camp.
- The first day of each session is check-in day and it is an ‘all hands on deck’ day
- Instructors will be expected to meet-and-greet every student on check-in day
- Everyday you are responsible for and accountable for all the students in your class, from the moment a student is dropped off for class, til they are picked up by their parents or
RAs.

- The last day of each nine day session is a closing ceremony that you will help facilitate with the Program Director and Academic Director.
- After all the students have left, the RAs and Directors will handle the move-out, while the teachers will be resetting the classroom for the next set of students (after session 1) or completing the pack-up and preparing everything for shipping (after session 2).
- Field trips: There are field trips to local on campus and off campus sites that you will be required to attend.
