About the Position

Community College of Philadelphia is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach in the Electro-Mechanical Technology program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to promote student learning and retention.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of electro-mechanical technology and incorporate best practices into instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees as assigned.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the advanced manufacturing industry in industrial maintenance or as an industrial mechanic.
  • OR, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 1 year of work experience in advanced manufacturing.
  • One-year formal teaching experience is preferred but other forms of instruction, such as on-the-job training, will be considered.
  • Level 1 PMMI Mechatronics Certification.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching diverse student populations and addressing equity gaps.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching within a community college.
  • Bilingual or other language proficiency.
