**Summary**:
The Legislative Assistant will provide legislative and/or research support to Senior Policy and Government Affairs (“PGA”) staff. You will report to an Associate Director, PGA.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Track all legislative activity related to the U.S.Israel relationship, including legislation, hearings and member statements.
- Maintain voting records and historical records on members of Congress.
- Remain current on AIPAC’s legislative and policy agenda, and serve as a resource regarding those issues for Congressional staff, as well as, AIPAC staff & membership.
- Conduct research, compile requested information, and draft related papers, memos, etc., enjoying wide discretion within areas of competence and expertise.
- Assist in the formulation of legislative strategy and in other specific policy formation processes.
- Attend Congressional hearings, press conferences, public forum discussions, etc., and memorialize in writing the issues covered at such events.
- Draft and/or review written materials, including those distributed internally to staff as well as to AIPAC members.
- Provide basic administrative support to senior PGA staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred or commensurate experience.
- 0-3 years’ experience, Congressional, Executive Branch, or relevant private-sector experience strongly preferred.
- Passion for a strong U.S.Israel relationship required.
- Extensive knowledge of the legislative and policy development processes.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and draft related work product, track legislation, and memorialize in writing events attended such as Congressional hearings, press conferences, etc.
- Strong writing ability.
- Ability to multi-task, working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
- Full competencies in the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Salesforce and Smartsheet preferred.

**Competitive salary based on experience. This position is eligible for benefits during the employment period. We currently work remotely two days a week and in our offices the other three. AIPAC is an equal-opportunity employer.**
