**Job purpose ** The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a professional and welcoming environment that reflects the Southland Physical Therapy Experience of incorporating our core values and mission statement. This position requires excellent customer service skills, great attention to detail, strong organizational skills and accountability to coordinate and manage the workflow of the patient visit schedule.

Our practice specializes in providing excellent care in outpatient physical therapy. Our mission is to create the perfect patient experience to live happy and live well.

Please note that frequent travel to other offices in Costa Mesa, Irvine and Santa Ana may be required.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Provide a professional and welcoming atmosphere for patients upon check in and check out for every visit.
- Understand insurance coverage and be able to explain the coverage clearly to the patients.
- Manage and request patient authorizations upon expiration
- Maintain patient schedule and manage waitlist to ensure and accommodate access to care
- Answer all incoming calls and transfer/take messages accordingly
- Address patient inquiries and escalate to Office Manager, as necessary
- Collection of copays and billing transactions
- Troubleshoot office equipment issues
- Practice discretion and integrity in all job-related activities
- Uphold standards and regulations set by HIPAA and Southland Physical Therapy
- Maintain front office lobby cleanliness

**Qualifications**

**Required**:

- High school diploma
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills/attention to detail with the ability to execute and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to use multi line phone system with professional phone etiquette

**Preferred**:

- Prior scheduling experience
- Prior Google Suite Experience
- Conversational Spanish

**Working conditions**
- Full time position
- Fast paced office environment with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
- Travel to other offices when needed

**Physical requirements**
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
