Our employees describe the company as a collaborative environment with a small company feel in a great location.- The position will be full-time, with a competitive benefits package.- As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
- Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of accounting duties. Requires initiative and significant judgment in making correct account adjustments and allocations. Duties may include analyzing accounting documents for accuracy, investigating questionable data, and taking corrective action when necessary. Reconciles various accounts and balances accounts payable/receivable records.**Accounts Payable (80%)**
- Data input of accounts payable
- Process weekly check runs
- Audit invoices against purchase orders, research discrepancies, and approve for payment
- Investigate problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills
- Compute and record charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, and similar items
- Monitor accounts payable to ensure payments are up to date
- Reconcile and report discrepancies and problems to supervisor
- Makes improvement suggestions during the audit process
- Answers all vendor calls and assists in invoice payments and resolving disputes if any

**General Accounting (20%)**
- Keep track of expense accruals
- Record monthly journal entries
- Assist with 1099s at year-end
- Assist with the year-end audit by preparing various GL account analyses, pulling invoices, and investigating discrepancies
- Assist with quarterly sales & use tax returns
- Assist with month-end close, making sure accounts have been reviewed for accuracy
- Prepare various GL account analyses
- Keeping track of credit card expenses and timely booking into appropriate GL account
- Follow up with credit card users for timely submittal and approval of expenses
- Other accounting duties, as instructed by supervisor
