**Description**:
**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Directing, supervising, evaluating and performing work performed by assigned crew;
- Coordinating training and providing guidance, feedback, and training to crew members;
- Implementing hiring, terminating, and disciplinary actions related to staffing matters;
- Directing workflow and developing maintenance schedules;
- Investigating and working to resolve citizen concerns and complaints;
- Participating in long range planning for the Division;
- Developing strategies and implementing decisions about the acquisition and use of equipment, materials, and supplies;
- Ensuring inventory levels are managed and monitored efficiently;
- Coordinating with contractors, vendors, and other service providers regarding resources
- Serving as a lead worker as required;
- Performing other related duties as required.

***City of Richmond Public Works employees are considered essential personnel and will be required to work during declared emergencies and major weather events.**

**Qualifications, Special Certifications and Licenses**:
**MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE**:

- High school diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of experience in the assigned area
- An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Five (5) or more years of Refuse Collection experience;
- Two (2) or more years of experience operating as a crew supervisor or lead;
- Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and practices.

**LICENSING, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record;
- A valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver's license;
- A valid Commonwealth of Virginia commercial driver's license (CDL)
