The Multilingual Programs Compliance Coordinator provides direct compliance support district wide. The Multilingual Programs Compliance Coordinator ensures compliance with state and federal guidelines pertaining emergent bilingual students by assisting with the coordination and monitoring of identification timelines, LPAC documentation, implementation of language development plans, archiving LPAC documents, communicating with teachers, and overall maintenance of the multilingual programs audit files.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**
- Support the district’s efforts related to compliance requirements and accuracy in PEIMS data.
- Ensures that federal and state timelines are met in a timely manner.
- Sends monthly compliance audits to campus leaders, LPAC administrators, EB clerks, and Multilingual Programs Director.
- Support the district’s efforts related to compliance requirements and accuracy of Cambium data, including EB programming, years in US schools, and designated supports as applicable.
- Provides guidance, support, and training for campus leaders, teachers, and staff regarding federal and state policy governing EB students.
- Prepares, coordinates, and supports LPAC administrator in LPAC meetings.
- Meets with parents (if applicable) regarding waivers/exceptions or any changes to their EB status.
- Oversees the records process for the Multilingual Programs department, including supporting EB clerks, establishing daily priorities, and overseeing the retention and destruction of records according to the records retention policy.
- Ensures EB clerks’ timely review of compliance requirements for the initial, state assessment decisions, and end of year LPAC meetings.
- Coordinates the state mandates TELAPS assessment.
- Oversees the communication regarding records corrections and the tracking/record keeping process related to records review.
- Manages the process of transferring records for digitization as needed.
- Participates in professional development opportunities to improve job-related skills.
- Keeps the Multilingual Programs Director and other stakeholders informed of and comply with state federal, state, and local policy.
- Conducts district wide training focused on the compliance platform and reports usage monthly.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and effectively.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in bilingual and/or ESL education
- Experience working with diverse student populations, parents, and other stakeholders
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

**OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS**
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard, smart board and other office/classroom technology.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, including but not limited to: books, paper and instructional/office materials/supplies.
- This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling and/or the ability to be mobile.
- Ability to travel throughout the district and city as needed by means of personal/private or public transportation in compliance with the state’s department of motor vehicle and/or public transportation laws.
