Job Duties:
Data Manager (consultant) to assist in managing and analyzing data. Supervised by a Senior Research Scientist in the Office of Applied Research and Evaluation, the data manager will work closely with DCF’s Office of Licensing to understand the analytic and reporting needs of the Office of Licensing, creating efficient processes that will help DCF leadership process and readily utilize data ongoingly. In this role, the data manager will coordinate with an external vendor (TCC Software Solutions),partnering state offices (Division of Family Development) and other internal offices (DCF’s IT office) to oversee the development of our shared licensing database, acting as a liaison between DCF’s Office of Licensing and the current collaborative database development team. Additionally, this role will oversee the improvement of data collection and reporting processes for the Office of Licensing through the creation of online surveys and the dissemination of monthly executive summaries.
There will also be a number of data coordination tasks, including coordinating administrative tasks related to data collection and sharing.
**Duties**:
1. Manage data systems & data collection efforts
- Oversee use of data system, become an expert in navigating and pulling data from other data systems
- Clean and manage quantitative and (occasionally) qualitative data
- Draft, refine and maintain data collection tools (e.g., surveys or data tracking tools)
- Maintain documentation of data collection activities including transcripts, data files and data codebooks
2. Conduct analyses on administrative data
- Analyze quantitative and (occasionally) qualitative data using software such as Excel and SPSS
- Participate in the design of research protocols and data project plans
3.Collaborate and communicate around findings and needed improvements
- Support the development and maintenance of interactive data dashboards and visualizations using Excel and Tableau
- Collaborate with stakeholder groups to interpret data and develop recommendations
- Communicate findings through presentations and written products to both internal and external partners
4. Assist with administrative tasks
- Send/share data with necessary stakeholders, both internal and external to DCF as well as to the federal government
- Coordinate administrative tasks related to the statewide childcare research project
